Bio Tom Palmaers
bio
Tom Palmaers (1984°) has a degree in electro-mechanics.
After living a year as exchange student in Finland in 2003 he studied graphic design but quit high school in 2008 to become a freelance photographer in 2009.

He began his career as a local city photographer and wedding- photojournalist. Soon his interests began into press and documentary. Since 2010 he works for a local newspapers and joined
a belgian online photo-archive "imagedesk"

Tom spend also lots of time in personal work on social issues. Since the birth of the HDSLR, he experiment a lot with photo and video. During his own assignment in Dadaab, Kenya in 2011 he learned to work with a broadcast camera and worked three weeks for SNG and EBU.
At the moment he is also available for ENG camerawork with his own kit.

This summer he will be cover the Olympic Games of 2012 in Londen as ENG cameraman

In 2012, he participated his first photo contest in Belgium (NPPA 2011) and got nominated for his personal work about autism.
